NOW HIRING: DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Director of Operations

Sangre de Fruta Botanical | Bowen Island, BC
$100,000–$120,000

Sangre de Fruta is looking for an experienced Director of Operations to join our senior management team and help build the systems, structure and operational foundation for our next stage of growth.

We are a 10-year-old, founder-led botanical beauty and fragrance company based on Bowen Island, BC. Our products are sold through our own channels as well as a growing network of luxury retailers, hotels and spas across Canada and the US.

We have grown thoughtfully and organically, and we want to continue to do so. We’re looking for someone who can bring clarity, structure and strong systems to the business while understanding how to work within a creative, entrepreneurial company.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Founder & CEO and working on Bowen Island, the Director of Operations will be a member of Sangre de Fruta’s senior management team alongside our Directors of Sales, Marketing and Finance.

This person will take ownership of the day-to-day operating engine of Sangre de Fruta — strengthening our systems and processes, improving planning and accountability across the Operations team, and making sure the business can execute effectively as we grow.

The role includes:

  • Leading day-to-day Operations and the studio team

  • Production planning and coordination with manufacturers

  • Purchasing, suppliers and packaging

  • Inventory management and demand planning

  • 3PL, fulfillment, shipping and logistics

  • Operational planning for product launches and major projects

  • Developing and implementing systems, processes and SOPs

  • Creating clear ownership, timelines and accountability within Operations

  • Identifying operational risks and solving problems proactively

  • Improving operational reporting, KPIs and planning

  • Building an Operations function that can scale without adding unnecessary complexity

  • Partnering with Sales and Marketing on forecasts, launches and growth initiatives to ensure Operations is prepared to support company plans

  • Partnering with Finance on purchasing, inventory planning, COGS, working capital and operational budgets

  • Working collaboratively with the senior management team on company priorities and planning

Who We’re Looking For

You’re an experienced Operations leader who enjoys both building systems and being close enough to the business to make sure they actually work.

You may have experience in beauty, CPG, wellness, food, fashion, home or another product-based business. Experience within a founder-led or growing small-to-medium-sized company would be particularly relevant.

You’re comfortable moving between strategy and execution. You might spend the morning improving a production-planning process and the afternoon solving a packaging delay with a supplier.

You bring:

  • 8+ years of progressive Operations experience, including meaningful leadership responsibility

  • Experience in a product-based business

  • Strong knowledge of several areas including production, supply chain, inventory, purchasing, forecasting, logistics and 3PL

  • Experience developing and implementing systems and processes

  • Strong project-management and organizational skills

  • Experience leading and developing people

  • The ability to use data and KPIs to improve planning and decision-making

  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

  • A practical, hands-on approach to solving problems

  • The ability to bring structure and accountability without creating unnecessary bureaucracy

Most importantly, you’re a strong operator. You create clarity, follow through, hold people accountable in a constructive way and enjoy making a complicated business run better.

How We Work

This is a full-time, 37.5-hour-per-week senior leadership role based on Bowen Island.

Being present with the team is an important part of the role, particularly as you get to know the business and build out its systems and processes. We also believe senior leaders should have autonomy and flexibility in how they work.

The role includes reasonable and sustainable working hours, and flexibility.

The Director of Operations will have a private office nearby in Artisan Square for focused work, calls and meetings.

The Opportunity

Sangre de Fruta is at an exciting point in its evolution. We have spent the past 10 years building the brand thoughtfully, and we are now strengthening the team and infrastructure that will support our next stage of growth.

This isn’t a role focused on maintaining an established operating system. There is a real opportunity to shape how Operations works at Sangre De Fruta — building stronger systems, developing the team and creating an operational foundation that supports growth while protecting the creativity, quality and entrepreneurial spirit of the company.

You’ll work closely with the Founder & CEO and alongside the Directors of Sales, Marketing and Finance, with meaningful ownership over your function and a real voice in the future of the business.
